Jakarta, 17 November 2025 – PT Jakarta Propertindo (Perseroda), or Jakpro, has launched its CSR program “Karya Ibu Berdaya”, an initiative designed to provide new avenues of empowerment for women, homemakers, and vulnerable groups through ceramic art training at the Taman Ismail Marzuki (TIM) area. The program not only forms part of the 2025 Mother’s Day series but also represents Jakpro’s strategic step in strengthening the creative economy ecosystem while creating tangible opportunities for economic independence among communities surrounding the company’s assets.
The program is held at the Trisno Soemardjo Building, 5th Floor, Taman Ismail Marzuki, through a collaboration between Jakpro and Lost in Clay Jakarta Pottery Studio, which provides professional instructors, studio facilities, kilns, and comprehensive learning modules. This synergy ensures the program runs with an intensive and structured training approach, capable of producing real outputs that participants can immediately utilize as home-based business opportunities or as the foundation for developing independent MSMEs.
The Head of the Jakarta Provincial Office for Empowerment, Child Protection, and Population Control (PPAPP), Iin Mutmainnah, expressed appreciation for the collaboration initiated by PT Jakpro in coordination with the Cikini Urban Village, the Central Jakarta Correctional Centre, and the Ministry of Manpower of the Republic of Indonesia in empowering vulnerable women, along with Lost In Clay. She hopes that capacity-building programs aligned with the growing needs of the creative industry which continues to show increasing economic potential each year will continue to expand.
“This is a moment we must seize to open new economic opportunities for women whether through independent entrepreneurship, increased income from existing businesses, or job placements within the creative sector. Prioritizing programs focused on women’s empowerment is a smart development strategy because its positive effects multiply, effectively and efficiently leading to more prosperous families and ultimately a stronger society as a whole. Women tend to reinvest a significant portion of their income into their households, especially for children’s education and healthcare. Healthier and better-educated children have stronger futures, helping break the cycle of intergenerational poverty,” said Iin Mutmainnah.
“This program is Jakpro’s concrete commitment to ensuring that women’s empowerment does not end at seminars, but translates into practical skills that sustainably improve well-being,” added Yeni Widayanti, VP Corporate Secretary of Jakpro.
In its implementation, “Karya Ibu Berdaya” targets 25 women from various backgrounds, including participants recommended by the Cikini Urban Village and vulnerable groups supported by the Ministry of Manpower. These groups include women who have faced social stigma, such as former inmates, survivors of substance abuse, and other marginalized individuals. The program serves as a platform for them to begin a new chapter with creative, ceramics-based skills that hold real market value and long-term potential.
Over the course of the one-month training, participants receive intensive guidance from learning tools and materials to mastering fabrication techniques, trimming, slip decoration, and underglaze applications. Each participant is expected to produce three final ceramic works that can be developed into commercially viable products. In the advanced stage, they also receive training on packaging design, basic branding, and both online and offline marketing strategies as part of Jakpro’s efforts to ensure program sustainability. Beyond the training room, participants’ works may also be considered as official corporate merchandise, helping expand market exposure.
The program is not designed as a short-term intervention. Following the training phase, Jakpro and its partners will conduct monitoring, provide continued mentoring, and support participants in joining bazaars, showcases, and even forming cooperative business groups to ensure their newly acquired skills continue to grow and create measurable social impact.
“Karya Ibu Berdaya” stands as a representation of the fact that effective empowerment requires well-designed programs, disciplined implementation, and clear social objectives. Leveraging the ecosystem of Taman Ismail Marzuki as Jakarta’s centre of arts and culture, combined with the support of professional instructors, the program reaffirms Jakpro’s position as a company committed not only to building urban infrastructure but also to building the capacity of its communities to grow, thrive, and become self-reliant.
